Default NYGM Aircraft Damage Mod Beta Tester feedback of battle

This is a Beta Tester's feedback on the NYGM Aircraft Damage Mod

Quote:
After about an hour of surface sailing, at 11:51, I was spotted by two Sunderland’s who came in to attack. Following the "Fight Back" order, I fought back.

The result was a 40-minute battle, with a new pair of Sunderland’s showing up every 10 minutes (note the airstrike config). The flak crew worked overtime.

Of the first pair, I managed to shoot down both planes, one in about 6 minutes. The second one went down after 16 minutes, and by then the 2nd pair was "working" on me. The way the flak dispersed was very well done, so was the damage. I used external camera to observe flak performance, and it seemed pretty good for the most part.

I was very impressed at how it worked. A single damaged engine on a Sunderland has a huge effect on the plane's performance, something I never noticed before. The plane slows down significantly and becomes easier to track, watch, evade and shoot at. Still, it can continue putting up a fight. Another thing I saw that I never have before is a plane blown to pieces in mid-air. Which is what happened to #2 here.

Of the second pair, one dropped its bombs and left with a damaged engine, the other was shot down 21 minutes into the fight, just as the 3rd pair arrived. About 20 minutes after the fight, with several casualties taken (more on these later), the morale of my crew plummeted - and thus efficiency (yes, NYGM fatigue mod!), but my boat continued running and defending itself.

Of the 3rd pair, both planes went away with a damaged engine. In part because I >>ran out of ammo<<. Imagine that!

Final tally:
4000 20mm shells fired
3 out of 6 Sunderland search planes shot down
10 casualties sustained (8 killed, 2 wounded) - two officers (my WO and my LI who was helping repairs) and six enlisted men (flak and repair crews) dead light damage to boat, mostly external areas and also bow quarters, radio room and compressor. From machinegun fire only.

On the way back to base, I saw a Sunderland pounding the crap out of a fishing trawler.
All in all, I'm quite happy, sort of surprised I got off without serious damage to the boat - but I paid a heavy price in casualties.

My only real suggestion right now is to increase the time between air attacks, but I think you're on this already. Otherwise, I think you're very near the right spot. Maybe the flak is still a small bit too accurate (after all, I did only have a pair of Zwillings and no heavy flak), but it's really hard to complain of it right now.
