I think we need one to take care of some unresolved issues, but I wouldn't bet on one.

I think the next patch will be called Silent Hunter IV. And it will require its own multiple patches.

I voted yes, because the poll asked if SH3 needed a patch. Now whether I would want a patch, that's a different story. I don't know if I want to even imagine patrolling the Atlantic in a stock v1.5 sans all the glorious mods, waiting for the software alchamists on this formum to make them compatable again....

The crummy ogg wav synth output audio package there using replaced with somthing better. (or at least present more advanced options)...

Particle effects used more appropriately especially on 6xxx nvidia and 9xxx Ati cards... the current programming technique for handling particles was hot 3 years ago... today its behind the times and causes many high end vid cards temperature issues (especially modded).

Crew "lost" when manually moving guys from the deck gun to observation deck resolved.

Hunting in the NA for long periods of time should cause warships to be directed or to spawn in an area; presently I can troll certain areas in 1940 with little to no fear of DD's, emptying the deck gun...

Better memory management with some "on error" handlers... so I can get no sound in an effect rather then a trip to my desktop with a module failure.

Save game manager is teh suck, please fix how this looks, or have some options so I can clean up the 20-30ish saves per career.

In-game Skin manager ala. IL-2 sturmovik or pacific fighters... it is beyond all logic that IL-2 and PF have this and lock-on and SH3 don't; especially for multi.

Wolf packs, or atleast radio calls from other subs in a region looking for support... (nice to have).

Already done!

Look for IrishReds excellent radio "Heavy" mod.

Look for Serbugto's A.I. "Wolfpack mod", that simulates A.I. Uboats capable of attacking enemy ships, here:

Happy hunting!

There are several unresolved issues that could be easily fixed. The dial on the radar etc is a good example.

I would liek to see one more patch, that doesn't attempt to do anything drastic, but just fixes the obvious small bugs. And of course the XXI!

Of course I want everything perfect.

But I've been playing SH3 for months without problems or serious limitations.

I'm already a very happy customer!

Regarding Pants' post about AI gunner problems, search The Community Manual for "flak gun" to see if the workaround there for the "Sleeping Flak Gunner Bug" resolves your problem.

The problem for me is that the only reward for progress is this game are the upgrades you can buy, and the ultimate reward should be the XXI. Being bugged as it is it's an anti-climax.

But I also am a very satisfied customer
