Wake up the dead!

Is the Tweek pack 1.4b compatible? I ask because I noticed in the pack's INI file all sorts of default settings. The file's date is back from April, way before patch 1.4b was released. If Ubi made changes to default settings since then, these values may be out of synch.

Anyone know?

Another question:

The enclosed sub tweek program will not help players running SH3 Commander to start SH3 because SH3 Commander has its own set of Basic.cfg files for several flotillas.

Any possibility of creating a sub tweek program version for use with SH3 Commander? Or incorporating this tweeking into the next SH3 Commander version?

The ini file will only be used when you click "Default All" to restore all default values. There´s no problem as long as you don´t use it...

What happens if you do press the default button?

Oh yeah!! I was looking for something like this for a long time. Beautifull job!

If you are thinking in doing some new version, probably you could add the crew, ammo and sub for edition... with this, your tool would be the 4 in 1 lolol

Thanks once more!

It kills your beloved dog and also changes things like standard sub equipment, torpedo loadouts and renown costs for subs/torpedos back to stock SH3 values.

I guess I should just enable the edit boxes by default, I just wasn't wanting to make it an all out cheat app. Thoughts?
Making us add a command line item in the program's icon was not that bad a thing to do. Just something to remember is alot of us are completely computer illiterate and even the simple job ypu gave causes stress to figure it out.

I got tripped up on the required capital "W" in "wolfie" and until i read this thread i was stumped to figure it out. heeheehe. And i'm fairly knowledgable on basic computing.

Anyhow, it's a fantastic tool to use to "bump up" the number of torpedo just enough to add some more fun shooting. I think my XIB now has 25 torpedoes. And i'd want at least as much for the XXI which surprisingly was only stocked with just 17. Go figure? All that extra boat and no extra fish in the hold. heeheehe.

Okay stupid question but how do you edit the program to give you exta torpedoes? I already got my boat armed with exta shells.surely if I add a few more torpedoes my boat will sink like a rock?

heeheehe

heah a few more fish never hurt

Not to many though or i know i'll feel guilty of cheating

A IXB sub is a big boat that can surely carry 25 fish within reason in my opinion.

It already has 21

[SUBMARINE_AMMO6];IXB
Type=2
Version=0
ForeTubes=4
AftTubes=2
ForeResIntern=4
ForeResExtern=5
ForeResExtra=6
AftResIntern=2
AftResExtern=2
ShellSlots=12
NbYears=7
Renown=7

/////////////////////////////////////////////

It's very easy to add 4 extra fish up front to create what looks like this... "ForeResExtra=6" within the text segment above you can use as a working example. You can edit 'basic.cfg' in a text editor.

Since mods can be made as you go on the fly on subs there's no need to worry about upgrading the XXI early in the campaign. For that job i will use wolfie's editor since i'll be tasked with trying to up the XXI from 17 fish to 25 but all up front - as that sub has no rear tubes to fire from. All depends on what the game engine can deal with. It's trial and error. The error being just funny behavior in port at the weapons loadout screen trying to add "too many" fish into one of the section.

We basicly got 4 sections.

The actual loaded tubes.
Their immediete reserve
The bonus reserve
The fish that piggy-back on top the sub in the diagram

good luck modding
