Multiplayer Realism Settings

I've been playing sh3 multiplayer on my LAN and I find the Game Settings to be too narrow for my (our) likings. My question is this:

Is there a way to set the Realism Settings for multiplayer besides Easy, Hard, Realistic etc? It'd be great to have the same settings as what is available for single player/campaign.

I've checked through all the files and haven't found any settings I can mod for multiplayer game settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Change the settings in data\cfg\gameplaysettings.cfg, that should work.

Already tried that. It only works for single player. I think this must be hard-coded to prevent cheats...
