Default Other destroyers??

Why doesn't DW have destroyer classes? Is it because they are so closed to the frigate in operational role and equipment that it would be redundant to add it in?

I'm assuming that you are referring to a lack of a playable Destroyer; fact is DW shipped with what the Developer's intended it to ship with. We can't simply have everything we want. This question has cropped up many times, truth is that Sonalyst control what is playable and only through our continuted support as a consumer base will ensure future expanison(s).

So basically they could claim that yes DD's/DDG's are redundant to the FFG we already have and would not further enhance the game experience.
I'm hoping that Dangerous Waters is another stepping stone for Sonalysts and we will continue to see the product evolve from greatest naval sim to "uber" sim.

688i > Planned Aegis DDG Sim > Fleet Command > Sub Command > Dangerous Waters > "Greatest Naval Simulation of all time"

the above is mostly my view so just take it with lots of beer

Well there was something planned post 688i and it was involving an Aegis platform. Reading the following:

http://www.subsim.com/ssr/jane_revival.htm

"second simulation in the series that would allow for joint surface/undersea missions with 688(I)". It would take the form of an AEGIS combat system enabled Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) sim."

The "Planned Aegis DDG Sim" went bye bye. I think it became Fleet Command in some ways.

You can tell that the link was written pre-SC because they talk about a Sonalysts Akula game. Thank goodness they integrated 688, Seawolf, and Akula into Sub Command as my bank account would've been hurting if they were made seperate. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Be still, my beating heart. So what happened?!?

Jamie Carlson, I will set up a shrine in my house in your honor and throw rose petals at your feet if you make this a reality. My next child's name will be Jamie Carlson *my last name*.
