Default What did Christmas bring to YOU this year?

My question is a simple one: What did Christmas bring to YOU this year?

I'll start. Friday, December 23 2005, was the first day of the rest of my life. After spending the previous two years of my life being dedicated to amature dancing, I was finally given a job offer....

Near to the eve of Christmas, I began my professional dance instructor career. That was the night of my interview, and I remember being so scared... scared that I wouldn't get the job. Then the studio owner finally sat down with me and said, "Training starts on Monday. I'll see you then."

I don't remember EVER being so happy in my life... Thank you Santa! You've really made my dreams come true.

And so I hope that others have found joy and happiness in this merry holliday. I hope that in the Christmas spirit of love, giving and selflessness, that somehow your own desires have been fullfilled. If so, please share your experiences with us.

Dreams are wild, but if you work hard enough, St. Nick might just decide to reward you.... Merry Christmas.

I got to be a subsim mod :|\

Otherwise, it wasn't too great a Christmas for us unfortunately. A friend of the family didn't wake up yesterday - at all. It wasn't at all expected. He was only 40

Ouch! Sorry to hear that CCIP. This thread has taken a grim turn.

Ok, going a little downhill, but the rest of the year will have plenty to offer. Sometimes you gotta stop for a breather, but life goes on with or without you... Now the choice is yours, move ahead or stay behind.

Sorry to hear that, CCIP.

Any other Christmas experiences (positive or negative, doesn't matter)?

Well, there's just some things you can't do anything about, other than perhaps to stop and think, and remember.

Congrats Markhimov, by the way.

Otherwise, I actually have to admit that Christmas is usually a kind of low-key affair for us - always great dinner though. Never a bad excuse for mom's cooking. But since my family is Russian, the real big party with all the presents for us is New Year's, so I'm still looking forward to that

I dont recieve gifts on christmas. Those that know me know not too, co i'll just give the gift away to someone that really needs it. I like giving gifts but wont accept any. There are millions of people out there that are in need on christmas day, sometimes i'll donate money to food banks - organisations that feed the homeless on christmas day. And of course i buy myself a present wrap it up put it under my computer table thats my christmas tree and can't wait to open it on christmas day.

I thought Christmas was supposed to be a time of happiness, regardless of giving or accepting gifts?

You try being happy after wasting 30 miles of gas (when you have no $ to buy more till Friday) to deliver four packs of smokes, a bag of apples and a box of ho-hos to you're friend’s wife and ungrateful spoiled children from his mother. I can’t wait till my friend comes back from deployment overseas and gives his kids a hot a$$. They couldn't wait till tomorrow- my dad works 4 miles away, but nooo they had to have it now!

Hey try to cheer up guys. I think TLAM the $ on smokes should have went to gas.

Anyway my X-mas day is over and I recieved:

A book I already have.

Some homemade shortbread cookies.

A bottle of Rum.

A 50$ gift certificate to an electronics shop.

And a strange thingymabob called a "Origional Mockingbird."
It hangs on your keychain and works by twisting some brass against wood, thus creating some apparent bird sounds. I couldnt quit playing with it so my favorite gift. Heck maybe it even works. :hmm:
