Default Finally Got My Retail Verson Of Dangerous Waters

Hello Everyone,

After a long wait I finnaly got my copy of Dangerous Waters from a retail store near my area. I hurd a lot of people had problems finding it in stores. 9/10 stores don't even carry the game. I checked in with Best Buy, Comp USA, EB Games and had them check their computers for shipments and none were coming. Finnaly I found that Gamestop was a store that did have a shipment.

One reason im posting this is because when I talked to the employees at the store they said since Dangerous Waters is a simmulation that isnt really popular they dont mass produce it, so if you see a copy, buy it right then and there because once its gone its gone, atleast this is how it ususally is in the stores around my area

Some of you might know me from Sub Command or Silent Hunter III, and I hope you will welcome me to Dangerous Waters!

Wolfy

One of the reasons I wanted DW so badly, can't wait to try it out!!!

The one thing I hated more than anything about SC was that you couldn't kill a chopper in the game, and the one thing I love about Dangerous Waters is... you can Almost put a tear in my eye seeing that that MH-60a explode in mid air tonight! ( No offence to the MH-60 lovers here )

Well, I can honestly say that that guy has no clue what he's talking about.

His boss's boss's boss's boss has made the initial order for all Gamestop and EB stores and is prepared to make another order after those units sell (which we all hope that they would). We have plenty of units produced and ready to be shipped, and I truly don't see how he's helping the situation by telling his customers that the game is not "popular" or that it is was not "mass produced"... that's just irresponsible...

Jamie I totally agree,
Sadly, this seems to be the case about a lot of simulation games. Retail stores don't want to carry a lot of units in stock because they're not sure they will sell. In fact, when I spoke with EB Games they told me I should contact the developer and have them point me to a place where I can buy it online, because they found nothing in their database for Dangerous Waters. Maybe the word "Popular" doesn’t describe it well. I think they know they probably won’t sell as many units as lets say a first person shooter game like Half-Life 2, because Dangerous Waters is an advanced simulation which is not for everyone, so they don’t bother to carry it? It really angers me because this isn’t the first time I've had trouble finding a game like this.

Here is an example Jamie. You can go to this link for Dangerous Waters on GameStop and under the Check Store Availability put in 83876 as the zip code and 200 as distance and you will see a few stores listed with 0 units in stock and a NO under “More On The Way?”
http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=646453

BTW: From what I have played so far, Dangerous Waters is an awesome game Jamie!!! Thank you!!!

Yikes!
I got pretty much the same results. Did a 50 mile radius..9 stores popped up, but only 1 showed 1-3 copies on hand, the rest were 0 on hand and all showing "NO" for more on the way.

That just plain bites

Well, it's going to get better it was just bad timing with the XBOX 360 launch last week and we were hoping that we'd be able to capitilize on the holiday weekend (i.e. "Black Friday")... unfortunately, so did Microsoft.

The units will start to come in this week and next week. We just placed a very sizable order with Best Buy (which should be in stores next week) and the EB units are on their way.

Apologize for the delay, but we are doing the very best that we can and once the units make it to distribution warehouses it's pretty much out of our hands...

No problem about the delay Jamie, I'm happy I was able to get a copy! It’s good to hear more units are going to be sent out; hopefully it’ll attract more players to this wonderful simulation!

Best Buy is going to have a BUNCH of DW copies next week (our largest order so far) and they actually seem very excited about the product (which is a nice suprise! )...

So hopefully Best Buy's enthusiasm will translate to improved sales and the other retailers will increase their 2nd orders... (fingers crossed)

Hi Jamie,

Do you know if Best Buy has ordered for their Canadian stores as well?

Thanks,
