Default Trouble spotting aircraft

I have IUB 1.02 installed. My crew can spot a ship 20 km away but cannot see an enemy aircraft until a bomb hits the deck. Even when the plane is spotted, the AA gunners refuse to shoot at it. It's frustrating. Anyone know of a solution?

is it something about IUB that makes you unable to spot and attack aircraft?

Not sure Panzer, but I've had some trouble along the same lines aswell with my AA gunners refusing to fire, even when I personally man the guns myself. I use the latest RuB and SH3Commander mods, and the problem I found was due to combat fatigue affecting the performance of my crew. It wasn't so much the actual gunners themselves but the fatigue of my Watch Officer who kept my gunners from firing. I know in RuB, fatigue plays a large factor in performance but it seems that the WO has just as much to do with it as the actual gunners themselves.

I've trained my crew so that I have 2 "shifts" as it were rotating whenever needed, so I have at least one backup crewman for almost every position, except for my deck gunners and AA gunners for which I have 3 and 2 of respectively so after long periods of surface action against aircraft or a heavy shelling of a lone merchant where I can't speed up TC, these guys can get fatigued to the extent that they can't man their stations and I have to resort to using some of the Watch Crew or our boats Medic's and Repair crew whom are off duty most of the time until such an occasion arises. I don't think I'm losing much in terms of skill or experience since most times I end up manning at least one of the gun positions myself ( never shot down an aircraft in my career yet and on 9th patrol) but at least it gets the job done. My advice if you are having difficulties is to try it and give it a shot. Hope it helps.
