Well MS. I'm peering hard into the darkness and I can imagine I'm seeing lots of things-
but what shows only here is a tag saying "image''

Maybes I'm just staring too hard at the ''Slapper'' -

WOW - those Wide Arrays are something else.

They should give an arc of coverage well beyond the parameters we have in DW.

That's not necessarily the case, Bellman.

Remember, its not just what the arrays can physically pick up, but also what their computer processors can resolve from the raw sensory impulses hitting the physical collectors on the array.

So contacts on the extreme edges of their apparature maybe making a physical impulse on the sensor surface, but the computers may not be able to make a sensible datum from the physical effects at the sensor surface.

I'm only a layman in these matters.

I just feel in my bones that this rigout should give better prow and stern arc coverage. :hmm:

Flow turbulence is not uniform around the 'sides' of the sub. compare air flows in wind tunnels
around very similar shaped aircraft fuselages. Turbulence can be at reduced levels in 'certain' areas.

Also it just seemed that the greater the 'working' sensor surface exposed the more the chance that the interference
from near hull turbulence could be screened (or filtered) out by computor processing.
This theory surely holds with the TA ?

Perhaps an astronomical electronic telescope exhibits similar qualities:-
Maximum surface receptivity + powerfull electronic processing = maximised detail.
