Default Iron Coffins - Great Read

Iron Coffins by Herbert A. Werner.
If you loved Das Boot but wished there was more ship sinking in it... Then this book is a must read. It's a true story taking you from Captain Werner's NavalAcademy to UboatSchool and into his first combat patrols and beyond. It gives you an authentic feel of what life was like on a U-boat and Tactics they employed against the enemy.

Found it at my local Barnes –n- Nobel.

I agree, great book. I have just started U333 The Story of a U-Boat Ace by Peter Cremer, hoping that will be just as good.

Good book, quick read. Very hard to put down and gives something into the world of being a uboat crew in ww2. Told straight from the mind of an actual uboat commander.

Torpedo Junction is also excellent. I like Wolf also. Operation Drumbeat is very good. All three of these were great books on the subject.

Clay Blair's two volumes are IMO the most definitive on Atalantic sub warfare (that goes for his Silent Service...Pacific volume too)

Admittedly the best book I have read is Operation Drumbeat. Simply a fantastic read on the subject.

I'll go with Jim on this one. Wolf abd U-Boat Ace by Jordan Vause are also very good.
