Realistic crewconfigurations....

I recently got the VIIB U-boat (realistic crewconfigurations):

Officers : 5
Pettyofficers: 16
Sailors : 30

When submerged I only have about ten free slots, with both the bow and the stern quaters entirely filled with people.

It's not challenging at all

Besides I constantly have to leave people in the tropedo rooms because there is no room in the quaters.

So what is wrong? I don't get it. 51 people in a VIIB seems really too much. Something wrong in the game files maybe...?
