Re-install problem

I tried to reinstall SHIII which worked (and I first deleted the existing folders), but when I then tried to update to verIV I get the message "MissionEngine.dll version unknown." What's up with that?

Did you remove the folder in your "My documents" folder as well?
Did you apply the latest patch?

I did not remove the documents folder, I have read that doesn't matter. I would like to retain my academy stuff if possible. The problem is when I try to update the fresh install.

i've saved the sh3 folders from my docs. reinstall game, then delete new sh3 docs folder, then replace with my previously saved sh3(with existing career). everything comes back. academy results. saved games. your same crew. just like you last saw it.

It seems that you have downloaded the wrong patch. There a four different patch versions, two for DVD (EMEA or US version) and two for the Download version.

I'm sure alot are shaking their heads side to side right now, I'm really not dumb, just "challenged" sometimes, probably the Jim Beam. Wrong file, my mistake, thanks for the advice!
