Is it just me or does the linking action between platform is not showing on ESM?
I dont think this is very realistic, since it involves emmiting devoices. Any chance of seeing this corrected (preferably with on/off option in the game options menu) in future mods or patches? |

Interesting issue, didn't think of that :hmm: Should it ? Signals are much weaker than radar pulses, but they are. Anyone knows how this looks in real life ? I guess special platform like EA-6 or Hawkeye can catch such comms with dedicated equipment but not ordinary ESM ?

Let's just assume that the platforms send out a narrow directional signal to a satelite whenever they promote a link contact, making it very improbable that the signal will be intercepted.

Molon has a point, but I think that in real life, using your link is taken under strick consideration, just like using your radio or any other emmiting device.
Even if the enemy cant pinpoint this emmition or it's type, I think it CAN be generally detected. |

Well, the players can also exchange link data on IRC on other communicators and we can't detect those comms too
