Default OH HELL I COULD KILL SOMEONE!!!!!

2nd Patrol, haven't seen a single ship. On the way home, U-45 is struggling her way through heavy seas in the English channel when she recieves a contact report of a ship nearby.

Kapitan Leutnant Josef Thomsen orders an intercept course and speed increased to Ahead standard. An hour or so later....WHAM!!!!!

U-45 collides with a coastal merchant, sustains heavy damage, and sinks due to flooding. All hands lost.

RIP Thomsen and U-45.

Note: This infuriated my slightly, but i feel as though i'm cheating if i reload the mission and resume the game since that isn't what happend in WW2. Sigh! Guess I'd better start another carreer......again

QQ on an unrelated topic: What's the highest level of knights cross you can get in SH3? Can you go all the way and get The Knights Cross with Swords, Oak Leaves, AND dimonds?

yes. Even with golden oak leaves.
BTW: I got them all and I'm in 1941. But higher levels of Knights cross were introduced later (1943,44). Is it possible to disable them before certain dates?

Yes you can, recieved the final diamonds added to it on my 8th or 9th patrol after duelling with a squadron of 3 destroyers, 2 armed trawlers and a torpedo boat not far outside of Dover. Lucky stern shot took the first destroyer and a snapshot with a bow torpedo took a second, made my escape in heavy waves and wind. This also netted me an iron cross for my Weapons Officer. Thought I'd be chancing my luck to make it all three.
