Default Flak and watch crew?

Hi guys,

Is it possible to man the flak gun and still have a watch crew on duty at the same time?

Whenever I assign a crewman to the flak gun, the watch crew go below decks.

TIA

BTW, I am using RUB

Nope, the watch crew will go below the decks when you man a flak or deck gun.

But, you can still have an officer on watch if you want. (unless that's different in RUB, but I don't run RUB so I don't know).

Yes, the watch officer will stay on the tower to give orders to the gunners and spot ships and so on.

Thanks guys. I hadn't tried the officer and wanted tyo cruise with the flak manned but was worried that I wouldn't be able to spot the danger. This should sort it out.

Just make sure that the watch officer is qualified, don't just stick anyone up there-that helps a lot

The reason for not being able to have both the watch and gun crews on deck... is the necessary element of speed in a crash dive.

The more people you have up top, the longer it takes for them to dive into the hatch.

Furthermore, I believe that once the order to crash dive was given in real life... you had better get your butt inside the boat or be left on the surface treading water.
