Mod manager by JSCones, v1.3.3.41 ---> HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

edit : some of them yes .. do not have instructions... best thing to do then is find the thread that mentions it ( in the mod forum ) and the author generally tells where to place the files ..... most however can be installed automatically using the JSCones installer .... very appreiciated manager he made

If I understand you right you have downloaded a .RAR file and don't know how to continue from there?

Well in that case the first think you have to to is unpack the compressed .RAR file. I assume you have winrar installed and JSGME modenabler installed. In that case extract that .RAR file to the MODS file in silent Hunter 3 directory. Enable that mod with JSGME modenabler and it's all done.

This works only if the certain mod is packed for JSGME. You easily check that by doubleclick on your specific mod folder, and next folder should be "data"

Here's an example;

You have downloaded a mod called "FUBAR VIIC" in .RAR. You extract that file in to Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 3\MODS

In the MODS folder you find the folder FUBAR VIIC. Doubleclick on that to see that the next folder should be "data". If not, that mod will not install properly.

Open JSGME and mark the folder FUBAR VIIC and press "enable"

All done!

Take as a rule to enable and disble mods when you are in port. Otherwise it'a a great risk that you'll have a CTD.

I don't know if I overexplained or not. I hope it will work for you with .RAR files

Thanx....that cleared some things up...however I do not see a data folder after I unzip to the newly named folder.....in fact I have downloaded three mods and they all appear as newly named folders...and the files are in them...and they show up in the JSGME...but there is no data folder after any of them....and now I just tried to play the game and there is something definitely wrong with my display...there is this big light sticking up out of the ocean like a monolith or something......WTF......over.

Hey Slick rick! Take it easy! What is the mods you have downloaded?

Sometimes modders just put the modded files in a folder and upload it. Then you have to know, or read in a read me file WHERE the files should go.

If you have a readme saying where the files should go, then you can self made the folder structure for using JSGME.

Another tip! After uninstallinig SH 3. Make sure you delete all the files in Silent Hunter 3 directory. Even the modded ones. To just make it more clean, also delete the SH3 folder in "My documents\SH3". That is the file where you have your carriers and savegames.

Good luck!

You first need to have webspace to upload your picture to. Once you upload your picture to a webspace folder, you can then link to it using a IMG tag.
