Default Neautrals in Enemy Convoy

Hi guys, well it's march 1941, and on patrol off the west coast of Ireland I get a message of an enemy convoy (my first) headed SSW at 7 knots, beaudy, err I mean auchtungleiben. So I amnage to intercept and tangle with a Clemson class DD and evaded him, then in to the convoy proper, much to my surpris there are around 6 neautrals form at least 2 different countrys in it.
Well I played by the rules, didn't sinf the American T3
or any of the others, just the britishers.

Q:
Now from previous threads I know that mein fureher issued a directive to attack neautrals travelling with enemy ships, so had I attacked them would I have lost renoun ? and why is the AI doing this ?

I also tangled with a V&W and won what led to was along these lines I sight the DD and sent a the following:

"You may surrender to me now and I'll take you back to Germany to be hung at the furuher's covienence or I'll blow you out of the water hear and now"

As far as I know, the game does not distinguish between neutrals and neutrals in convoy. You would lose renown in either case.

True, neutrals cost renown...unless you go to the proper .cfg file and change the renown for them to 0.

Bill,
open you SH3 data folder, cfg, basic file then change your neutral to =1.
The ships in this game that are neutral are 99% in the service of the King and/or supporting him and are ligitimate targets.
Sink every last one and get renown galor for it!!!

Below is what mine looks like.
