Default Problem with SH3 commander

Hi

Sorry i tried searching for this, I don't seem to be finding any matches.

I try to run SH3 commander, and i get an error. First, when i load my commander, it says, U-99 type error! Uboat.

Under change above patrol number it says error! error!

When i look at my crew, it says error by crewmember description. And when i launch it, it says "can not make directory" or has an error with the crew file. Did i miss something in the install of it? I've never gotten it to work yet. Thanks for the help.

Make sure you have logged on with Administrator privileges - it will not work with User privileges.

Under "User Accounts" in Control Panel, find *your* account name. Does it state underneath "Computer Administrator"? If it says "Limited", or if you're under a Guest account, that's your problem. You need to switch to the account (and there will be one) that says "Computer Administrator" and try from there.

Essentially, SH3Cmdr is not working because it can't read or write to the SH3 game files - systemic of privilege problems. This may not be the solution, but it's the first place I'd look.

Let me know how it goes.

Ummm, did you try what I suggested?

I am only aware of one other person who has had this problem (in other words, only one other person has contacted me), and the problem was privilege related, fixed by logging in under an Administrator account.

Sorry yes I am logged on as the computer administrator, I only have one user set up on my system. Oh well maybe when 1.44 comes out I'll get it to work it should be shortly anyway. Thanks
