Default DB editor

What does it do? Can you fix platforms? Change sonars?

The Kilo Active and passive sonar needs fixing......

I don't know if it will be addressed in the next"patch"

...assuming there is one...... :hmm:

Look on Subguru's side for jsteeds DB editor.
There is one from Ludger too, don't ask me what they do. I am anxiously
to burn my hands.

Yes - I have tried to get into it using the MS Access but dont seem to arrive at the right spreadsheet display. :hmm:

If anyones got any tips or 'how-tos' it would be great to get some advice on how to proceed -
in the absence of a Readme.

Frustrated and ...............

My appologise - I have just taken up suggestions to try Ludgers DWEdit and have just downloaded it.

This appears to have a readme so it might be kinder to this DB editor novice. We shall see. :hmm:

In many ways Ludger's DWEdit is more straightforward to use but you can't alter certain values independent of other stuff like you can with jsteed's.

I've always used Ludgers DWEdit as it is the one I am used to.

I did not think the editor required anything more than the comments that are in the zip file.

1. Unzip both files into the DW database folder.

2. Double click on DWDBEdit.mdb.

3. Press the Import/Export button to import the db into the program.

cheers, jsteed

Both DBEditors readmes are fine for installation purposes - what I was/am frustrated with is not noing how to use them.:hmm:
Was hoping something might be in the docs.

We are not all software savy - to that level.
Seems I'm not alone -

Help/advice/procedures genuinely sought - like ..................
Use Open Office and/or MS Office.
Just use a Spreadsheet prog.
Use Access and access it through OO.

Procedure - first open X....then.................to enter the ...........

If you want to inspect............do this.
If you want to change...........do that.
DONT do that...............

I now this sounds paltroony to guys who eat software with their cornflakes ....................
....but many out here are flakey with this stuff. :P

..........................................so to the uninitiated , perhaps it would be wiser to say - 'HEALTH WARNING'
'If you dont know what youre doing dont meddle'

..............but it would be interesting to see the settings, the parameters, etc.

I get a compiler error when I try to import the database from DW. Is there a step I am missing?

Are you using jsteeds? or Ludgars?

If you are using jsteeds, you need to have MS access 2000 installed on your machine.

I am using jsteeds and I have access 2000 as well. I get the error from most of the controls on the switch board, but I would assume that I need to import the DB from DW first. I put both files included with jsteeds download, in to the database folder as well.

I'm not familiar with jsteed's editor, so I can't give you much help, I'm afraid.
