Newbie with mission save query

Hello, have been watching for a while after buying the game about a month ago alongside a new PC and find it a brilliant but rather flawed game.

In looking back on the board I haven't come across this problem yet. I've been running a type VII career, which is onto it's 14th patrol without major problems, I can manually save during a patrol and come back and it loads back in ok - no issues there.

Alongside this a week or so ago I started a type IX career which is driving me mad! I must have left Lorient about 20 times (which takes a while because of the distance travelled with the time compression disabled!) and have only just got the boat back for the second patrol without it crashing back to desktop after a in game safe. I've noticed the pattern is that if I save during the patrol and come back later on it crashes within seconds of the restart - yet not if I restart from a in port save.

Before I noticed the patten I took the boat into New York for a bit of sightseeing, got out, and was half way back across the 'pond' when other duties called and had to do a ingame save. Hours lost!

Anybody else had the same pattern?

One further query; I'm sure I saw a reference to a mod for conning tower emblems that could be applied from the equipment page without having to delete existing ones or waiting for a certain stage in your career. Can't find it now.

Hi! I canÂ´t really help you with the save game problem...

The Lorient time compression problem can be easily solved. Download this:

Start tweeksh3.exe and change "Land Proximity" to 64 or higher. Then you can also use the time compression when you are near land.

About the emblems... As far as I know thereÂ´s still only one way to immediately get an emblem, normally, as you know, you have to earn it. Please read this:

Thanks for the info about the time compression, downloaded that ok and seems to be working - but just had a crash to desktop during normal play, hope it's just a one off....
