Default Where is the Snorkelradar fix? Airplanes catch my snorkel...

Hi all!

I can`t find anymore that post....
I read that anytime... i think 1 Month before or so. :hmm:

I have the problem, that i got my snorkel in 1943, but the Airplanes do have great Radar! They catch it everytime.... so i can run surfaced. it is the same.

I know they got the great Centimeter Radar... but that was very late in the war? 44 or 45.... don`t know.

Anybody know something about this Superman Radar from Airplanes?

Thank`s for all help.

hmmm

maybe. I don`t know it. Not sure if it was something like that.....

Don`t know if Beery or CCIP or anybody did such a Mod/Fix for that problem... Can`t remember how the name was of that fix......

If u have that Fix, then get it please on rapidshare....

I have that Sonarfix for DDs... u don`t mean that!?

I mean the Fix/Mod for the beeing detected by Airplanes which can detect ur Snorkel with Centimeterradar too early in the war....

Thank`s

I'm still not sure if it's final, but I did add a tentative fix which gave all radars a 2m minimum height for detection in RUb 1.43, meaning the radars aren't very likely to spot the snorkel head above the water. Snorkels WERE fairly effective, even if late-war radars could theoretically locate them.

There's real issues with the snorkel's defined surface being too huge, and last I recall, Jungman was looking into it, but I don't remember any final solutions for it. I guess the issue is still not-quite-settled :hmm:

Uhh Jungman did solve it...you didn't read the thread soon after RuB was released?

Edit: Here it is for you both-

Jungmann has made a snorchel fix, one for Rub 1.43 and one without Rub 1.43.
The fix is in the Ai_sensors file.

Here is links for that file

http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=41750

and this also:

I hope it helped!

Good luck!

Edit: Ahh, Joea you just caught me before I posted this one :P

Ah, thanks! I'll look this over shortly.

In fairness, it's hard to keep track of all the mod developments sometimes

ooo was wondering abot this fix too? havent had the chance of doing some snorkeling in rub yet.

snorkels where idd very effective in reality. i read about some late war hunter killer groups being taken off their assignment, becouse the increased useage of snorkels. they simply couldnt locate the traveling uboats anymore.

snorkel is very effective. in fact, today is still used by modern subs like the kilo .

Here we go again!
Without any snorchelfix you will be very easily detected by aeroplane when using the snorchel. Unrealistic easy to be detected in fact!
With Jungmanns snorchelfix it's more likely to stay undetected. About 1-2 km range to be spotted, otherwise you will stay undetected.

There is two versions: one included in a pack of mods, sensorspak and one snorchel fix for these who use Rub 1.43. Look in the posts for DL links.

Good luck with your snorcheling

Hi guys!

I have a big problem!

I used the 10KM visibility Mod which is a modded Sensors.dat File in the data/Library Folder!

Now i have the same Sensors.dat file to build in from the Sensorspackage (Snorkel fix, Wabosfix etc.)

Is there any modded which is included in that Sensors.dat file?

Any combined Sensor.dat file where is all together included?

Now i can use the SensorMods but not the 10KM visibilitymod because they are in the same file!

Any ideas?

Sale

the Sensors.dat file is not needed for the increased visibility. So is the sensors.cfg.
Essential are the 3 skycolours.dat files in the env folder and the scene.dat.
if you like beery´s new water and increased visibility try this one:
http://rapidshare.de/files/4635080/V...tible.rar.html

edit:
oops, i just noticed you were probably not refering about the visibility mod by Manuel Ortega...
