AFAIK it has not been released yet, which is why there is no link on Serg's site

Yea, it's kinda not very useful without a way to implement it on sinking ships. Although I'd still be happy if we could stick a few random lifeboats out in the ocean... :hmm:

Maybe the lifeboats could be triggered to spawn like the floating crates you always see after a sinking, if someone manages to crack the files with the code for the debris. It wouldn't be totally realistic, but I'm not so obsessed with details that I'd expect to see davits swung out, animated crew running to their places in the boat, etc.

Presicely. Unless it is used in some specific missions. Actually, the mod was initially made for a multiplayer mission.

That ´s why it is not exactly one of my priorities for completing.

I did not look at this in detail yet but at first glance could not find out how to define a specific type of debris to be spawn.

Hi sergbuto,

Great list of mods you keep churning out to make SH3 more and more fun to play.

About your lifeboat mod... I use irishreds radio mod, as I'm sure many others here do to, and you get radio reports of distress calls from merchant traffic so why not just have some lifeboats out on the open seas as the aftermath of a ships sinking without needing the tie in to having sunk the ship yourself. I know sinking a ship and watching lifeboats appear is very appealing to add to the immersion factor.

I was just offering an idea of you possibly being able to release the mod, so far hehe, so we have a chance of adding some radom encounters with the poor survivors of the unfortunate sinkings those reports are about. (I not trying to be pushy or picky but if the watchcrew could spot them as a ship sighting, then it would make it functionally easier to implement and add the quasi immersion factor for now.)

I know you mentioned it's not a high priority right now, which is totally understandable considering the other great mods you've released, so if you choose not to release it until it makes the majority happy then I'm more than willing to wait. Just suggesting, thats all, hehe!

Happy modding and happy hunting
