Hey All
This is my first post in this forum. I have read it for a couple of weeks now and there are really golden advises often ![]() I have spent quite some time trying to find out where you should shoot your torpedoes on specific ship types and weakpoints to get a quick kill. My own experience has taught me this: C2: 2 torpedoes set to 4 meters running depth, set to impact, ½ degree spread, aimed at fuel depot right in front of the bridge Coastal Merchant: 1 torpedo set to 5.5 meters running depth, set to impact, aimed at fuel depot right in front of the bridge / can also be set to 1 meter below keel, set to magnetic, aimed below fuel depot. Small Tanker: 1 torpedo set to 2 meters running depth, set to impact, aimed at fuel depot ring in front of the bridge / can also be set to 1 meter below keel, set to magnetic, aimed below fuel depot. As for destroyers, corvettes and trawlers it goes without saying that only one torpedo aimed at either fuel or ammo bunkers with either trigger pistols does the job very well ![]() If you have any other good advices on torpedo settings on ships please post them ![]()

If the target is a merchant, I target for the engine room, it`s bigger and easier to hit. It takes usually one torpedo to split the target ship in two.

When I shoot to the engine room. I go to the "perfect position" and set the engine room as a target from the recognition manual. So I dont need to put in running depth, but I always use impact fuse.

I use magnetic pistols set to 1/2 to 1 meter below the ships listed draft.
With those settings 1 torp will sink anything up to a C2. With C2 up to T3s 1 torp will almost always bring it to a dead stop and a second torp will finish it off. If i'm in a hurry i'll give them a two torp salvo with spread set to 0. Now beware the two torp salvo method usually takes a few minutes to sink the ship. Keep an eye on the targets speed and only use the third torp if it starts getting underway again. If you fire the third too soon you may see the ship register as destroyed before it hits.

Last night i found a couple of C3 ships
I fired 2 torpedoes 1 meter below the keel of the ships set for magnetic impact while i was aming for the engine room / Fuel bunker... On both the two occasions it only took one torpedo to break it in half. The two second torpedoes never got there...they both blew up before hitting their target....seems like a good target solution.... ![]()

I might be dumb, but how do you select where you wanna target a ship?

with easy settings, you just point your periscope on the part you want to target (no lock target). So you fire where the x hairs are pointing.

2. Open the recognition manual, select the right ship, wait until it is less than 1000m away and AOB is around 80 degrees, then click at the zone you want to hit. The running depth changes automatically. |

As Gizzmoe says, the TDC computer will auto. set all information into the torpedo.
A good advice here is to note down all the information you can about the torpedo settings e.g. depth, speed, pistol and posibile spread. Then in the future you don't have to be in the perfect position every time but can take shots from longer awat and on more steep AOB's.

Hi,
Yes you can - just don't "lock" on to the target - where the cross hair is, that's where the torpedos are aimed for so you can pick your spot. On the easy setting i think the rec. manual tells you where the engine room is, on the harder level you don't get that option you either have to mod the rec. manual or take an educated guess at where the various areas of the ship are Kaleun |
