Default Quick question...

Hi all,

Just installed Rub1.43b and I have some questions...

After reading the readme file, it suggested to go ahead and click on "no map contact update". Well, I did that and now when I look at the navigation map, ships and other contacts are not represented by squares and neither are their bearings. My position is represented as a dot.

Is this a feature of Rub1.43 or the realism setting I clicked on? Since I'm relatively new to SHIII, I still would like this info displayed on my navigation chart. I hope its not a bug...

Also, I installed it while I was in port and started a new mission. Siad my base was changed to Kiel (from Wilhelmshaven) and it started me of the African coast!! Must be some new war technology...

Thanks in advance,
Jay

U position represented as a dot is part of the RUB1.43 package............The map contact is part of the realism so just click on "no map contact update" again and convoys and ships will show up...... SO it ain't a bug............... anyhow with your last question I don't really know why u started off of Africa. It maybe because you installed the mods over a current career which sometimes can play a little bit of havoc. Anyhow goodluck

I've had the bug where you start off the coast of Africa even with vanilla SH3. I've heard it's something to do with starting a patrol around the time where your flotilla is moving from one port to another. One way to fix it is to just end that patrol, and when you start the next one the new port will be properly recognized.
