Default Something weird happened

Some of you may remember my "Can't transfer to La Spezia" thread. I was playing again today and was ready to call it quits on the game. I'm getting more crashes than I used to. Anywho, I was originally stationed at Brest in my IID campaign. I figured since the game kept crashing when I tried to transfer, that it may be a bug with Brest. I then wanted to transfer to the 10th flotilla. If I remember right, that should be out of Lorient. However, when I clicked the 10th I got transferred to the 29th out of La Spezia! When I got to La Spezia, I was ordered to patrol BF25. I said, "Oh no. I'm not going up there. This IID only goes so far." So I ended the mission still in port. I then saw what my next orders were - CN22. That's more like it. Out of curiosity, I reloaded my save previously to the transfer. Everytime I clicked on the 10th, I would get sent to the 29th and be ordered to patrol BF25. I'm thinking somehow, some way, the flotillas got crossed. For that one mission, La Spezia may have thought it was Lorient. This was at the end of 1941.

Does Beery's Flotilla Mod fix any bugs/anomalies with the 10th and/or 29th flotillas?

My install of SH3 was fresh when patch 1.4b was released. I don't think it would be that corrupt after that short amount of time, could it? I'm not real enthused about installing all those mods again...

Guys,

I never had CTDs in the "early days," before patch 1.3. Since then though, and I cast no aspersions on any patch or mod, I can't load any, I say again, any saved game other than an "in port" save. I have been very close to giving up on SHIII also. But I didn't.

I take this as a message from the gods of SHIII that I have used up my cheating quota and must now play real. Having heeded the wisdom found on this forum, I have been playing "Dead is Dead" for the last few weeks. And I heartily recommend this discipline. It adds to the experience, believe me. I was sorely tempted to renig on my promise yesterday whey I blew myself up on one of Rubini's harbor mines but, by God: Dead is dead and I am dead. What's worse is that my crew is dead too. I loved those guys. They smelled bad but they could reload a tube as fast as any crew in the Kriegsmarine. And they could drink more beer than than the USN bomb disposal guys I worked with last year.

This game has horrible faults, quirks that have made me threaten to delete it many times. But its too good, I can't give it up. I just devise workarounds for my CTDs and have found that if I behave as if I was subject to the same discipline as the real U-boat commanders, I will probably have the same results. Meaning that I will probably die but I will do a lot of good for the Fatherland before I go. As long as I hold to the discpline that once I leave port, my only salvation is to return, I don't have CTD problems.

I got heaps of crashes. I had lots of mods and i think they were the reason for my CTD. I deleted SH3 and reinstalled. Updated to Patch 1.4b and RUB1.43 & 1.43 patch, Commander and the Modd enabler. Thats it.

This was done over a week ago.
I only use RUB1.43 and Commander mods. Im into my 10thpatrol and just got the VIIb. I haven't had any CTD usually i do.

Fingers Crossed.
