I just want a water mod that changes the visibilty aspect of the water, no color changes, no murkyness...just more limited visibilty yet allowing me to look up from 25m-periscope depth to get a sense of the ambient lighting on the surface. I want to be able to tell if its light or dark without breaking the surface.

You can use Beery´s water mod.
Extract it to desktop and copy over just the scene.dat file to your /game/data folder. The files for the color change are in the Env folder of the mod. http://beerymod.com/BeeryWater1.43.zip |

I got your mod, im trying it out now.
I like it, its the best ive seen so far, my only personal suggestion would be increasing the vertical/upward visibilty range a bit more. Due to all the light coming from above, I'd think one would be able to see upward a little better so that we can see the brightness more, wave reflections and ship's keel/hull silhouettes(with little to no detail of the hull/keel). |
