Default Real Uboat

Hi folks

I have just installed SH3 and am busy downloading the wonderful array of mods but I would appreciate a comment re the above.
I see there are versions 1.21 - 1.22 and 1.30.
My query is - do I need to install all 3 or just the latest v1.30 ??

Many thanks

George

All you need is the latest version for a complete install.

The latest version of the Real U-boat mod is 1.42. That is all you need.

I suggest you first run a couple of patrols with a clean SHIII. That way you will find out what you like, and what not.

After that you can find mods for the stuff you do not really like and want to change,

There are advantages in NOT running a few patrols with a clean SH3 install, because if you do you may get used to some very unrealistic features - like clear water, overpopulated seas and the uber deck gun. However, the standard version of the game is a little easier to use in terms of finding and sinking ships, so it may be the best way to go.

Indeed, but remember anyone that want realism will never notice the clearwater at all. They will not use the scope while submerged and/or the external cameras.

For the super accurate deck gun there is not a mod yet afaik.

For some the Deck Gun maybe 'uber accurate' but I found it woefuly
inaccurate, the Bots would only hit 1 out of every 6-7 rounds. So shabby that if any Gun crew shot like that in RL, I'd have em up on a bloody charge.

So I have "Corrected" that lil mistake and now my Gun Crew achive a 80% hit rate out to 8000m. Consideing that the 105mm Gun has a MAX range of over 14Km, I am happy with how I have it now.

So my advise is the same as Drebbels, play with a clean slate of SHIII first them make ur mind up with what YOU feel is wrong or right and adjust it accordinaly. You may come to decide like some, that its all to 'Acardeish' If so then Beery's RUB mod may be right up ya alley. IF on the other hand you feel that its to 'Anal' or 'slow and Boring' then I suggest you either find a few mods more to your liking along those lines.

The point being is that its all up to YOU and how YOU feel SHIII should play, not any1 else.

And as Egan stated, 'Berry's RUB1.42' is the latest and supposedly greatest of the RUB series.

Welcome to the World of SHIII

...when in fact, even with experienced gun crews like Hardegen's, the hit rate was no more than 20% even from 200 meters (yes, that's TWO HUNDRED).
The U-boat is one of the least convinient and stable gun platforms to say the least.

But hey, it's all up to you! Thus, if someone also happens not to like RUb's reloads, I may also suggest grabbing my DG reload options mod :|\
