Hello everyone.
Yes it is currently correct that SH3 Commander is not compatible with GWX-KC. For those that are unaware, SH3 Commander is an external launch program created by Jaeson Jones that offers some random immersive features. He is also who also brought us the awesome JSGME application. SH3 Commander was built when 32 bit systems were the norm, and a configuration file set was required for it to function properly in conjunction with GWX 3.0 of the day. GWX - Knight's Cross is a megamod that we built as a team. One of the first directives that I set out for the team was that GWX - Knight's Cross edition is to first be able to stand on its own two feet as before... INDEPEDENT of SH3 Commander. As vocal as SH3 Commander users are, most users do not use SH3 Commander. Typically they use SH3 and the megamod of their choosing, without SH3 Commander. That is the majority that GWX-KC is first to serve. None of this is to say that we have anything against SH3 Commander, its designer, or those who prefer to use it. We absolutely do not. Our first loyalty though, is naturally to be the greater and central GWX-Knight's Cross edition mod package. That is what we came together to build after all. That being said... we are still looking at and working towards compatibility, as you can see here: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...&postcount=326 Just as you do, we want that too. Now you know WHY it is the way it is. However, here is the final word on GWX-KC and SH3 Commander. We make no promises, and we offer no projected deadlines of any kind. We may be successful or we may not. ... and that's it. Do not badger the GWX - KC team as a whole or its individual members in regards to SH3 Commander matters. All questions pertaining to GWX-KC and SH3 Commander may be pointed to this post. If the status changes. I will personally be very happy to let you know. KL |
