Hi All I am posting for the first time in a while. My previous username was Herr Minger but I was unable to find my login details so unfortunately I have re registered.

I was a big fan of the SH series but got disillusioned with the bugs esp in SH5 so quit playing it. I know have quite a fast rig and am running win 11 and wonder if anyone can recommend a WW2 sub sim other than SH5 that has been released since then that is as good.

Welcome to Subsim, Herr Flicke.

I'm not sure if you tried the GWX add on to Silent Hunter 3 or the Fall of the rising sun add on for Silent Hunter 4. Luckily, we have awesome people here including JimBuna and others that did the coding that have helped put together these excellent add on's.

These add on's bring new life to older simulations. The coders here decided that the Silent Hunter series was an excellent platform for modifications. JimBuna has told me that the Iron Cross addition for Silent Hunter 3 may be available around Christmas this year.

I'm not sure what all the Iron Cross edition will encompass but these are the same talented Individuals who put together GWX 3.0. I think it's safe to say that it will be awesome.

you should try UBOAT:
there are Type II and Type VII now. I hope they will add Type IX in future DLC. I understand that devs wanted to focus on releasing full game first.
