Default Mod application issues

Greetings!
I have missed this game for so long and recently downloaded it on steam again. I have some limited experience with mods and decided to add the FOTRS mod and for some reason I just get the vanilla game.

1. I did the 4gb fix
2. Added the right mod to my mod folder and activated it.

Anything I’m missing here?

it is hard to answer at this point.
welcome back, Oceanman.

if you have applied the mod using JSGME, please post the config: Tasks then Export to Clipboard, then paste it here (ctrl+v).

if you have not applied the mod using JSGME, you should. i believe it is included in the FOTRSU package.

lastly...(PB would have asked this first), are you using FOTRS or FOTRS-Ultimate? there is a significant difference, so it is important.

If you played it before adding the mod, you need to delete the SH4 folder in the Documents folder. I also recommend MultiSH4 1.5 if you plan on running other copies with other mods, so they don't all save to the default SH4. For example for Fotrs I use FOR instead of the default SH4. I also recommend keeping the original install pristine and intact and just copy everything from the original install into a new folder named for the mod you are using. That way if you screw up the install somehow you can just delete the new folder and start again just by copying the original pristine install, rather than have to uninstall and redownload.
