Laurel & Hardy Film Site Is Honored By City Of Los Angeles

A tall, steep set of concrete steps used as the setting for a widely known Laurel & Hardy film short has been honored officially by the City Council Of Los Angeles; the steps, seen in the 1932 Oscar-winning short film The Music Box, still exist after over 90 years since the film's debut and has been a very frequent tourist stop; the film, besides winning the Oscar, was also selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry...

Shortly after I first arrived in Los Angeles to live, I visited those stair with my then girlfriend; we started at the bottom of the stairs and climbed all the way up to the top; it was a blazing hot summer day and I'm pretty sure she probably hasn't forgiven me for taking her along on the climb; maybe I should have told her there's a road around back that goes to the top...
