Looking for help. I just had to replace my C drive on my windows 7 pc. My SH3 is installed on my F drive and worked fine before replacing the C drive. Everything looks fine until I visit the bridge, either scope or free view. Once I do this the graphics are distorted until I restart the game. I have reinstalled nvidia driver and reinstalled SH3 but no difference. When drive was replaced directx updated from 9 to 11. Directx is supposed to work with previous versions but I’m not sure about that. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

The C: drive is generally your OS drive, and as such contains the "hives" for the Windows registry that holds all of the information for you software installs. Did you re-install SH3 after the OS re-install so that it is in the registry and recognized as valid? You could re-install it to the Programs Files on the C: drive if desired, and run the modded or stock game from the F: drive. Use MultiSH3 for another Save folder. You would most likely also have to re-install the DirectX v9 files and codecs also.

Yes you need DirectX 9. Installing it won't mess up any of the v11 stuff, just adds in the older version as well.
