Mind you, they also work on installing their own version of the Chinese social scoring sytem. And the killing of cash money will allow to personalise every single buying aciton and so to centrally monitor, control and if wish be: forbid further buying the censors do not want to allow the subject. Personal yearly CO2 budgets can - and will - be enforced.

Its all becoming a nightmare.

I spotted the first two chain stores this year with my own eyes where you cannot pay cash anymore.

Governments have been flirting with Universal Basic Incomes/Guaranteed Minimum Incomes for an awhile now. Once Central Bank Digital Currency takes hold I would think everyone will be required to have a bank account which they can then govern your life with. Of course there will be some who refuse and create a black market to trade commodities like good capitalists. But I imagine big brother will work diligently to close them down and demand they conform. When exactly I don’t know, probably not in my lifetime. But it sure does look like it may be heading in that direction

Oh no doubt. Like I mentioned above it also matters how it gets presented, sometimes it’s behind your back when you’re not looking. How it works over here is government creates a problem, then gets people to demand they fix-it. Government to the rescue fixing what they deliberately broke.

Take our southern border instance. Massive immigration problem, loss of control at the border (government creates the problem). Media gins up a little hysteria. People demand they fix it. Government to the rescue with H.R. 2640 Border Security and Enforcement Act of 2023 and the sheep doth rejoice!

But if the sheep bothered to take a closer look, lo and behold they’ll see their shepherd sneaks in “and requires DHS to create an electronic employment eligibility confirmation system modeled after the E-Verify system and requires all employers to use the system.”

Yep that’s right! In the rush to fix the border, it has added that if ANYONE in the U.S. wants a job they’ll need to be verified by the government. It could be used to enforce government mandates, make sure you take your medicine, simply limit job prospects because of whatever the government doesn’t like at the time with just one click of a button.

Hell, I had to use e-verify just to get a goddamn fishing license today. How screwed up is that? I guess this is what Biden meant when he said powerful electronic surveillance tools were better because walls don’t work right?

Border Security and Enforcement Act of 2023

This bill addresses issues regarding immigration and border security, including by imposing limits to asylum eligibility.

For example, the bill

limits asylum eligibility to non-U.S. nationals (aliens under federal law) who arrive in the United States at a port of entry;

allows for the removal of a non-U.S. national to a country other than that individual's country of nationality or last lawful habitual residence, whereas currently this type of removal may only be to a country that has an agreement with the United States for such removal;

expands the types of crimes that may make an individual ineligible for asylum, such as a conviction for driving while intoxicated causing another person's serious bodily injury or death;

requires a fee of at least $50 for each asylum application, except for certain applications involving an unaccompanied alien child;

authorizes the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to suspend the introduction of certain non-U.S. nationals at an international border if DHS determines that the suspension is necessary to achieve operational control of that border;

prohibits states from imposing licensing requirements on immigration detention facilities used to detain minors;

Personally I would rather they just build a wall and patrol it. Unfortunately people who think that were called vile names like extremists, racists, fomenting hate, or simply against the wall because Trump was for it, etc. etc. Which seems another means by which government gets what it wants. It is being pushed hard in the U.S too. Stores using self-checkout, no cash allowed there. Gas stations, car washes, fast food drive ins, online shopping, ect, all making it much more convenient to use a credit or debit card than cash. Now some of the ballparks are starting to use facial recognition to verify fans online ticket purchases so the fans can just walk right in. To use an old phrase, the freight train is coming, and we are about to get run over.

With legal, politically oppositional, grass root actions this cannot be stopped, the determination of the enemy is far too strong to not get himself stopped and to play foul if need be. It demands collective civil disobedience on a scale unprecedented and unimaginable.

Thats why it will not happen, and all the bad stuff will come.

Nevertheless, the people will have nobody else to complain to than themselves. A people that allows politicians to own it and to impose the will of the few on the many, agree to serfdom and continuous loss of freedom and dignity.

Guess that as a whole our society deserves what is coming. Voluntarily give up upright walk and instead squirm like a worm - don't complain when you're stepped on and get smashed. It would be up to us to send all these lifetime career politicians and functionaries to hell. Its feudalism in disguise, and always was.

I dont get it, after almost 40 years as a grown up adult, why people still put their trust and belief in parties and politicians. Its as if they all got their brains extracted, and all memroies of the last betrayal after elections being removed by drugs in the tap water. Their trust and confidence and goodwilligness towards parties and politicians I have never had, from beginning on, I always saw and focussed on the risk and the malicous temptation, and assessed this as the greatest danger and threat, which does not allow any trust in politicians and parties. All in all I was so far always confirmed. And I have already formulated and written such opinions at school in the last three years (to the annoyance of my - civil servant (=verbeamtet) - teachers whom I suually liked quite much but who as civil servants profited directly from this system, of course. I do not weants chools under ideological state control, I can see too clearly in Germany where this leads, its by now totally messy). For a while I still believed in the legitimacy of taxes as an adult, but I was inconsistent there, and I also overcame this inner argumentative contradiction maybe 15 years ago at the latest - last but not least Subsim forum discussions played a large part in this.
