Hello there shipper,
Question : I had WIN XP on my older PC and now I'm the proud owner of a brand new laptop running on WIN11. I've reinstalled the SH3 without any patches, and thereafter the lovely expansion GWX Grey Wolves. When I start a new career,I can't find any cargo or other any ships to sink to the buttom of the ocean. Is it still a bug from the default installation of SH3 or is it something else going on? Keep it up ![]() |

Remember though cloaking, that is not your grandmother's Windows... With WinXP, you could install the game in the default path, but with anything Vista or later, you have to create your own install folder NOT in a Program Files folder, since those are "protected" by the OS, which will not allow proper mod activation.

Aside from Windows trying to protect the Program Files folders from getting any changes, there is also the JSGME mods that GWX add. If the campaign sub-mods are enabled in the wrong way then you might end up with no spawns in the part of the world where you are in. Like if you have the Asian side campaign files enabled last, you won't find much in the Atlantic or Mediteranean. You don't need to enable those campaign submods when you patrol the regular Atlantic regions. Only when you transit to the far away places in Asia would you use the merged campaign. Or when you decide to play the Black Sea campaign do you need to enable that one. (the subs were transported over land to the black sea, so no transit patrol needed)
The GWX Manual explains more about their use.
