Default Sh3 download purchase

Looking for best place to purchase a digital download of the game. The one Alex mod has started an itch to play again. I still have the cd version but alas it’s been a few computers since I’ve had a dvd drive in one. And suggestions? My go to Amazon doesn’t seem to carry it now.

TIA!

Steam! It's often on offer and can be had for next to nothing.

However make sure you read the notes in the Steam SH3 community page if you want to install mods as special incantations are required.

You can buy an external USB DVD drive, and they don't cost too much. That is how I installed IL2, SH3, And SH5. They all play just fine.

For that reason I’m shying away from steam.

A d/l should Only cost a few dollars I would think. I have SH4 and SH5 as downloads and they were incredibly cheap. I just don’t want to buy a DVD drive for one game.

I looked at Gog and they don’t have it in their inventory. I did find it on uni but for some reason I felt that was supposed to stay away from that I don’t remember if I read something somewhere or not.

I have SH3/4/5, all Steam versions and no special voodoo required that you don't have to do for UBI or DVDs (keep out of WIN Program Folder, etc). Made 5 copies of my pristine Steam SH3 and run LSH-2022 (Campaign & Single Mission), OneAlex, NYGMe, and Toyota86 Mods.

To be clear, the one Alex version is just download and play. It includes the exe, you do not need to reinstall the game. And since you already own it, there are no issues from a piracy perspective.
