essential mods

Hello,

I am trying to get into silent hunter 5. I have been hesitant due to the requirement of mods to make the game playable, but not knowing the minimum mods. What are the most basic mods needed to get the game functioning properly? I have heard good things about wolves of steel and have tried it, however, it does seem a little intense for someone just getting started.

Wolves of Steel is a bit confusing, I've tried and am still scratching my head. Right now I'm just playing Vanilla but some of the bugs annoy me which is why I went to WOS. Keep in mind that I'm new to SH5 but I can see the appeal to the mod.

Personally, I would just stick to Wolves of Steel. Right now I'm trying to understand everything about subbing before going into the deep with WOS, which is why I'm Vanilla at the moment. Once I understand everything I'll be back to Wolves of Steel.

You could ignore my recommendation and experiment with several mods but WOS has pretty much everything you could want in a simple to use and convenient package.

I'll second just using twos. It's an amazing mod. If things like real navigation aren't your jam, there is an options adjuster program that gets installed with the mod where you can turn off real nav and change a bunch of other stuff in the mod.
