Silent Hunter 5 Gold Revision Level

I bought SH5 through Steam and finally got it working by downloading the Gold version through Uplay. Is the gold version at revision 1.2.0 and will I be able to install Wolves of Steel?

I always feel like a dope when I find the answer to my questions right after I make a post.....

I got the mod installed and it's very pretty. I don't know about game play yet. I think it's going to be a long learning curve.

Unlike you, I have been unable to find the direction on modding the steam gold version, do you have a link? I tried several different searches of the forum and could not find it.

Follow the TWoS install instructions. It works fine on the Steam version. Just do NOT install a game that you want to mod into the "C:\Program Files (x86)" folder, which includes the default Steam install directory. You will want a path that you make yourself, outside of any Program Files folder, which are "locked-down" by the Windows OS. See Moving a Steam Installation and Games on the Steam Support site.

What I had to do to get the Steam version to work is download SH 5 Gold from Uplay and use my Steam key. I found out the 'Gold' version has the latest rev. Also, each time you play, Uplay looks for the latest patch, if any. As so many have mentioned, you have to install outside of program files (x86) directory.

I installed TWoS without any trouble and it plays fine.
