Tonnage Bug Related to Equipment Upgrades

Hello fellow captains,

I have seen some info about a bug related to not receiving credit for tonnage if you have upgraded your boat's equipment before your first patrol. Does this also apply to adding crew and using emblems? Should everything be left default on first patrol, just to be safe?

I think it does. It's been a very long time since I started a new patrol in GWX. But I do remember having a case with no renown and tonnage awarded after the first patrol. I did change crew but not changed upgrades. So, crew changes can be considered a boat upgrade change.

Hi Gentlemen,

It is indeed an age-old Stock SH3 bug that no-one has been able to fix yet.

My solution generally in general has always been to make-do on the first patrol, and maybe return to base sooner than I might have on following patrols.

You can technically sail a patrol for a little over 24 hours, and go out at least 51km away from base to get the bug out of the way, but I always feel guilty about that when I do.... unless I am testing something. I usually just eat that bug and smile.... because.... I'm on a boat!

I hope this was useful as a morale booster to someone somehow.

This definitely clears things up for me! I suppose I'll leave the sub's systems, crew, and emblem untouched for the first patrol. Such a weird little bug, but still better than some of the hoops I've had to jump through for SH5!

To clarify, this bug only applies to the very first patrol correct? Subsequent patrols should be fine with upgrades?
