Can someone point me to where the deck guns reference to the sound file is stored?
I think I screwed up that sound in my merge. The gun sounds distant so its probably incorrectly referencing the wrong file or the settings are a bit off. ![]() |

So far found these ...
sh.sdl - has all the sound file to node mappings particles.dat and dsd - more node mappings Each gun has its own dat and sim but no dsd file. What I cant figure out is how the node mappings map back to the 4.5" gun firing. Any hints appreciated ![]() |

Found the problem. RFB mod's sound effect is fairly muted.
Didnt like it. So i copied the sound file from theberbsters mod, which is nice. I'd still like to learn the mapping though if anyone has an idea. The mappings are quite the spider web. |

While we're on the subject, every so often a shot will sound flat. Why's that?

From your deck gun, there are two files. One for when you are standing outside the sub, and one from inside your sub. The one inside is muted. If you are outside, it should always sound loud and crisp with a follow up ding ding dig of the shell hitting the deck and the gun being reloaded. If that isnt happening then your mappings are wrong of the soudn setting for the mapping has something silly like muffle for FOG turned on in sh.sdl |

Hmm, it's roughly every 7th-10th shot at normal speed, sort of a flat sound as if it were a dud, though it hits normally. I'm using 2x 5" guns.
