Hi there
Just recently gotten back into SH5 and have downloaded and installed the very excellent TWOS mod One quick question. I want my UZO to be stabilized, and have checked that option in the options menu (or rather I have made sure that 'No Stabilize View' is unckecked) This seems to work a treat if I load up a historical (scripted) mission However when I start a career the UZO is definitely not stabilized. Now - before anyone starts - I am well aware that having an unstabilized UZO is historically accurate. And that I should just get used to it. It is super realistic. Yeah for sure - I get that. But that really doesn't help me out. What with the advancing age, failing eyesight and onset of arthritis I just can't do this scheisse anymore, sometimes I need a little help from the game. So I guess I got two questions 1 - Did I mess up my install? ie. the UZO is stable in single player missions, but not in career? Have I FUBARED my install and need to start again? 2 - If my install is OK - can I maybe edit a cfg file or something to get a stable UZO? 3 - Bonus question It may be something in the TWoS - OptionsFileEditorViewer I had a look through it. I will admit I could easily have missed something. It could be right there in front of my face Any responses gratefully received ![]() ![]()

Options in the main menu only apply for historical missions.
For the campaign, you need to set the gameplay menu options when you are in the bunker before starting your next patrol, you cannot change them during patrol. This is very important because if you didn't do so before then the gameplay options will default to around 30% only, not necessarily doing what you want. Just before you start on patrol in the bunker, go in these options and: For high realistic play, set everything enabled except the 'disable external camera' and play with Real Navigation. For less realistic play, you can play without Real Navigation and also disable Manual TDC and other boxes (like the one you mention). Once set, these will also remain in effect for your next patrols until you change them again, but they must be set again if you start a new career or main campaign chapter. Because one cannot change them when on patrol, I use to always visit these options just before I leave bunker, so I'm sure all is OK ![]() XS Last edited by XenonSurf; 05-03-19 at 08:27 PM. |

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear enough
I am standing in the bunker before the first mission. Then I hit {esc} and turn off 'No Stabilize View' After I tell the guy I want to start the patrol, it starts, then I check the UZO and I am not stabilized However, if I back out to the main menu and load up a single mission, the UZO is Stabilized Hope this makes sense.

UZO and scopes should be stabilized if you deactivate the box, I assume you have clicked on 'Apply' after making your changes, otherwise everything will stay as before your changes. But there is a trick...
You can check it in your savegame files: Go to C:\Users\[USER]\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\SaveGames\0000000c where 0000000c is your last savegame, and open the file GameplaySettings.cfg You should see NoStabilizeView=false This must be the value you are seeking. If not, then change to this value and reload your last save, it should take effect. I also advice you to change it in the same file in the cfg folder. |

Well - I checked the GameplaySettings.cfg in the Data/cfg folder, and changed all instances of NoStabilizeView=true to NoStabilizeView=false.
Then I started a new career, and Bingo! My UZO is stabilized Many thanks for your help XenonSurf ![]()
