Is there any sort of ultra-wide support for SH4? Either offically or unofficially? I can change the resolution fine in main.cfg, but the buttons for actually starting a new campaign are not on screen (I can chose my name, renown, etc... still, but not actually start).
Beyond that, the FOV within the submarine is extremely low and the Scopes etc... all extend to off the screen. Anyone know of any fixes? Happy hunting and a merry Christmas! |

SH4 is a 10 year old game, so the best thing to do is set your display to the "native" resolution of your monitor, the video card to the same, and the game to that also, ~IF~ it has a setting that high. If it doesn't, find an even multiple. If nothing is close, set it to a close one, but use "Windowed".
Either way, when using the higher resolutions, you want to right-click on the SH4.exe file in the game's root directory. On that context menu, left-click on "Properties". Left-click on the "Compatibility" tab, and then tick the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". While you're there, also tick the "Run this program as an administrator", so that both of those boxes have check marks in them. Click on "OK". You change the game's settings from the main menu, and then choose "Options", "Graphic Settings". After you make changes, exit out of the game, back to Windows, then when you go back in, the settings will have updated.

I've gone the route of playing at 2560x1440 and an aspect ratio of 21:9 and SH4 didn't look very good. I'm now playing at 2560x1440 and 16:9 and SH4 plays very well. What pb also mentions works well also.

I tried using this fix which allowed me set the game to 2650x1080 at what I'm assuming was 21:9 (it was some ridiculously large aspect ratio, idk why it was like that). However, with that fix I still couldn't select "start campaign" as the button was switched off screen. |
