SH3 GWX MISSION EDITOR LOCK UP

Hi All im having a spot of bother with Mission Editor in GWX
adding Convoys to the SCR Lair for the Steel Sharks Group file size is 15,690kbs when i did the last SCR upate used a old deskop pc with windows vista all was ok file saved every time i added another convoy
when i try to do same on a windows 8 laptop mission editor locks up even with compatabilty for xp service pack 3 or windows 7 even tried compatabilty for vista still locks up

any help appreciated
