Default Pirate Bay gone for good?

So it looks like that supposedly-untouchable huge bandwidth hog might finally bite the bullet.

Their office was just raided by Swedish Police.

LINK

Almost hard to believe.

And you know if they don't, there's tons of torrent sites out there ready to fill the void.

I read an article today about how TPB's own founders want the site to die with this raid.

Time will tell...the article also said that last time there was a raid they were only down for three days. It's been just over one day since the current raid I do believe.

Its impossible to actually get rid of the Pirate bay, it's literally like 100mb file of random strings that can be interpreted by torrent software to open a torrent. Thousands of people have copies of it so if its down for the count you can bet a hundred clones of it will pop up, hell there is probably a bunch rehosting it already.

The ONLY way you can defeat piracy is to provide a better service than the pirates.

The news about this that I saw, mentioned that the site was transfer to a Costa Rica .cr domain, but only for a few ours since it already went down also.

Rilder is right, it is impossible or almost impossible to get rid of pirate bay.

The .cr domain is/was just a cache.

I wish they would just stop trying to fight piracy. It won't go away and the "big guys" who are so keen on going after the pirates still seem to have enough money to make "Clone of that other movie part eleven" every year.
