Default I'm getting better at shadowing subs.

This type 209 I was trailing went crazy ivan turning 180 and almost collided with me.

Things in HF are closer than they appear. I ended colliding with this sub from underneath him.

Why don't you like underwater cameras? You can only see things under water with it that are too close. The HF has much better range. I wish the laser range finder was modeled though.

Wow, good job! Close trailing of subs is something I've yet to really try

I'm fine with the underwater visual camera, as well, but it should probably fade out a lot earlier than the 3D camera on the Navigation screen should and be all but useless in littoral situations.

Shame that the HF can't be modeled as counter-detectable! But thankfully its range isn't that large.

Was this a war scenario? Surely he would have fired if you got that close - especially at 14 knots.

I've read about the Cold War stories of Captains taking underwater photos of subs - but I always get detected at around 8,000 yds with Russian subs - that's at 3 knots and coming up behind him...

Yes those are both enemy subs in quick missions. The first one wasn't going so fast maybe 8 knots but I could get close enough behind him to see him in the HF but I don't think he ever detected me because I sank him right after that screenshot. The second one never detected me but after the collision an akula that was hanging around sank me. I think the key was that they were both going too fast to detect me behind them. I've tried getting close to subs when they're not running around like jackasses but I've had no luck. I've tried tailing a whale but his turns were so sharp I could not get very close.
