Default New Captain on the block!

G'day guys!
Reckon it's time I'd introduce myself as I've been browsing SubSim for a week now and been downloading a fair bit of mods too

I am completely new to the Silent Hunter series and I am loving it! Only picked up SH4 Gold last week.
I've known about the SH series for a while but recently I had a series of events that lead me to buying a game which started with my brother asking, 'Hey, what's that submarine movie with Harrison Ford in it?'. Yeah...

Fast forward a couple weeks, been playing a lot of Red Orchestra 2, so that had me in the mood to watch or play anything WW2 related. Had a SH video show up in my Youtube recommendations. Watched that and it put me in the mood to watch Das Boot. Then suddenly, the next day I'm on Steam checking out prices on all SH games.

It was only last Sunday I was torn up on which SH to buy first. SHIII or SH4? Went with 4 just and then get III sometime soon. So, that's my introduction of getting into the SH series and of course I'm super into war/military simulators, like IL-2, DCS, Rise of Flight, Arma & Red Orchestra. And that was another reason to get into Silent Hunter.

I saw a lot of people had recommended to play SH with mods and SH4 didn't come with a lot of tutorials. A quick search on those pointed me to this site. So, here I am!
Been going here quite a lot as of lately, reading up all up on tutorials, tips & whatever else I can find and deciding which mods to download.

I'm hoping to stick around as much as I can. Will definitely be on another download frenzy when I pick up SHIII.

Cheers!
