Default Balancing game-time with your job

I am really into long, sub sim games that take hours to complete. When you think of games like SH3, SH4, SH5, 688i H/K, Sub Command, and Dangerous Waters that take a life-time to complete, a replay factor that makes them an eternity to complete, and numerous mods that make you experiment forever, how do you balance your leisure time trying to play all these games when you have a job?? LOL. In this case would it better to just stick with one good sub game or really try to play all of them one by one? I mean has there ever been anybody here with a job who has managed to "complete" all missions and campaigns in SH3, SH4, SH5, 688i, Sub Command, AND Dangerous Waters?? Would love to know what they eat for breakfast in the morning... (I can only imagine what someone's hard drive would look like keeping copies of all these sub games together with all their mods, and all the printed manuals on their bookshelves. LOL) So how is it for YOU? Whats YOUR preference?

I have every game you've listed, with the exception of SH4, and have played them all quite a bit. I always seem to circle back to SH3 though (and to a lesser extent, SH5). I've had SH3 running for easily hundreds of hours, not all active play since I'll often leave TC1 running. It just seems the most immersive to me. SH5 I really enjoy when it's not crashing, but SH5 seems too 'clean' if that makes sense.

As for balance, sometimes there is none. lol... I'll go on a bender (game oriented, not substance oriented) and other things suffer, friends, family, work, hahaha... Other times, I'll set play goals, like a professional gambler does, and stop playing at a certain point no matter what has happened... earlier if there was a ton of action. Other times, I'll push the deep out of mind, and tend to the more substantive issues that press us in daily life. But as for 'finishing the game'... the game will never be finished! LOL Oh... and SH3 travels well on business trips. It's great hotel company and helps keep me out of trouble when I travel. lol

That's a very good question,I,m retired now but it does,nt mean you can stay all day at the screen. I,m an amateur artist so have other interests, but the sub games are absolutely great, I play SH3/SH4/SH5 on alternate days, with 100% realism its a challenge . I like switching games because for some days you don,t find any Prey, especially in SH4 if travelling to your area of ops . I,ve recently started putting in Mods and that's opened ALICE in WONDERLAND for me , those Modder guys have left me awe struck . How to have a job and play IS a hard Question finding the time , I don,t have a job and its hard , I,m sure the Italian people have a saying, but I,m not certain ....... One Life is,nt Enough.... It certainly applies in this case . Enjoy the Hunt Kaleun , Hardigen

I just play in between 911 calls and station duties at work. Problem solved. LOL

For me, work takes priority because it has to. Friends and work around the house suffer because it can. Other than that, it's play until the wife yells at me to "get off that damn computer!!"
