Started out my first career in three or four years maybe. GWX, Hitmans GUI, 100% realism and patSH3r.
Left Wilhemshaven at Nov 3 07:37 for patrol in AN16 in my bad ass Type IIA. Taking the route straight across the North Sea and met up with a meduim cargo ~5000 tons in AN45. Using wo_experience, I had to do serious 50 min realtime plotting (the time just flew by, this game is amazing). She was heading 253 and was going 9 knots. I was following along on her port side at a range of ~6000m, with screaming engines. Decided to put two eels in her with 110 aob, but had to work down the distance between us first. Came down to where the torpedos would hit at a range of 5000m. Didn't want to get detected, as I was still at surface (Type II can't keep up under water). I planned to set one impact at one third from the bow going 30 knots, and a magnetic right under the engines at medium speed going 40. The thrill of waiting... "any time now", "come on" "did I miss?" - Boom . . . Boom. Nice! Time 11:14. They both hit the engine compartment though. No good on a medium. They often stay afloat with their bow and stern compartments intact. She was hurt bad though. I knew it, but she kept running. No fires and her smoke stack kept going. "Is she sinking?", "I think so!", "Naa... how in hell...", "Yes, she is sinking", "Is she really?" 11:45 she was down so the water almost came up to her rail. The smoke stack died and she became stationary. Didn't want to use another eel, for this bastard, since we're having so few. 13:24 and status quo. Sent another one into her stern and 13:29 she went down. Nice game. --- wo_targeting really works and makes this more fun. I got bored in this game a few years ago since it was too easy to plot down and hit the targets. This sure makes it a bit harder. Even though WO got the watchman qualification. It is too chunky though. I'm gonna increase the random spread so that the estimation errors doesn't always come in such big chunks. Also, I can put crew at the Flak cannon, but can't get to the station. Nothing happens when I press F11. Anyone knows what that's about? Have a nice day. Over and out. ![]() Not familiar with all of your mods, but I recall reading years ago that widescreen mods that use d3d.dll or something similar have to compromise and the disabling of the F11 key is the price paid for widescreen resolution. However, I am using the LSH2015 mod in widescreen and my F11 key still works. You could try using a key mapper utility to get your flak gun back.
