Russian sleeping beauty for 16 years heads out to sea

If you go and read the article it tries to equal the Jimmy Carter SSN to this old sea dog. No way are they equal, but what have they done to this sleeping beauty after 16 years.

Just carry missiles?

They could do with a replacement for the old Indias that they scrapped in the 1990s, this could well be it, after all the later Deltas and the India are not dissimilar in shape.

Possibly she has been converted to carry out similar tasks to that of the Jimmy Carter which allows the submarine to launch and recover various unmanned vehicles and support special operations forces.

She has a reduced casing and also upgraded screws shes been in modernisation for sometime it is likely not only special operations but also rescue.

Comparing to jimmy carter is senseless they are worlds apart.
