Sorry to ask, but what can I do to open the instrument panel where I can see the compass, speed and depth like in Silent Hunter 2?

There is no such panel in stock SH5. You need mods to enhance the UI e.g. TDWNewUIs.

Hi drronnie

This what you will should see with TDW's New UI.
The navigator is showing the Real navigation Mod in use.

You will also need to use a resolution mod with this.
If you are using a wide screen monitor 16.9 then you can use this mod.
Manos Scopes – patch for 16x9
