Default Using JSGME

Hello , I have updated version of SHIII and installed JSGME .
I have opened and activated a couple of mods and for some reason they don't show up in the game . One is the Milk cows .
Is there something I'm doing wrong ?

It maybe a historical item that won't show up until it is supposed to.
What year are you in? Are you playing stock or a super mod?
Need more info from you to help.

Precisely which mod are you activating?

A link to it would be helpful.

Ok , sorry , I should have elaborated a little more .

I'm running SHIII stock , updated (i think 1.4)
I have 2 copies of the game , one I experiment on , the other no mods .
The Milk 1.1 mods , ASN Torps , and one of the VanDos ships are the mods I've attempted to install .

When I open the JSGME app , it comes up and I added the decompressed files in the left section , select , and move to activated side (right) .

I see the folders show up in the mods folder . I have several careers with different boats / years , so I don't think it's chronological .

I'm not afraid to tweak things , I've done that with FSX and prior , but would love to learn more about cfg files for this game .

Thanks and great site btw

I suspect that the file structure of the mods is incorrect, and the mod files are ending up in the SHIII folder and not the data folder where they would be active. This fault occurred in the early use of JSGME when the mod author did not understand the file structure and essentially double-named the mod.

OK , I did see copies in both MODS folder and main SHIII folder . Nothing shows up in the Documents folder . Is there something I need to copy to data file in documents ? Or do I need a different version of JSGME ?

Default JSGME

Hi Skink5150,
Easiest way to do it, is to treat each of your installations separately like they were different games. I'll call them SHIII folder1 and SHIII folder2.

So you should have JSGME installed in one of your SHIII folder say SHIII folder1. This is the root directory for that JSGME and when you first run it, a MODS folder is made in the SHIII folder1.

Now lets install the milk_en.rar
Unzip it into the MODS folder
Now you should have a folder in MODS called Milk.
You can name the Milk folder anything you like to make it recognisable, as JSGME uses it as a label and discards it on installation.

Now open up the Milk folder.
You should see inside.

2 folders called:-
data
documentation

2 text files called:-
Leeme.txt
Readme.txt

Reason you check is that it's easy to unpack the milk_en.rar so that you get the Milk folder unpacked inside another folder, like milk_en, which you don't want.
So you open Mods. then open Milk and you should see those 2 folders and 2 text files described above.

Now install the other mods. Then install JSGME into SHIII folder2 and repeat the procedure.
